Dear Marina High School Families,
Welcome to the final Weekly Wave edition for the 2025-2026 school year. It almost sounds surreal to admit that the school year is coming to an end but here we are, ready for our Seniors to participate in their ast activities, give final exams to all students this week, and have our graduation on Friday.
Although the work associated with educating our youth is not easy, our young Mariners still manage to inspire us. When you see how, with the support of caring adults on campus, they overcome any number of barriers or shine through their work and effort, well, that makes our work all worthwhile. And as the end of the school year gives me time to reflect on what I have experienced as the Principal at Marina High, I would also like to express my gratitude to all of you- parents, family members, trusted adults- who have been part of the process and who are a crucial resource for our students. Although next year will bring new challenges and opportunities, we will continue to work together as the community and will address them with the level of care that our students deserve.
As for our Seniors, well, it has been a pleasure to get to know them for the past two years and to see them grow and mature (even if it doesn't quite show yet at home). I am inspired by their hopes and by their future plans. Their optimism is contagious and on point, and I am both sad and excited about their graduation. I can definitely say that I will miss them.
If you have a graduating senior, I'm sure I will see you during graduation. If you are a returning family, I know we will stay in touch.
Congratulations class of 2026 and Go Mariners!
